Course History

As the centerpiece of Blackthorne Estates, the course is situated amidst a beautiful natural setting in the rolling hills of Westmoreland County; The Club at Blackthorne will test all your playing skills as you maneuver through a variety of terrains; fescue-outlined holes with bentgrass fairways, picturesque elevation changes, and several natural obstacles. Don’t forget to steer clear of our 30 massive bunkers, and experience "putting perfection" on our immaculate sand-based bentgrass USGA greens, which feature: multi-tiered landing areas, sloping ridges, and plenty of speed and movement.

The first nine holes of the course opened for play in June of 2005. The Club at Blackthorne is slated to become a Par 71 golf course, measuring 6,750 yards from the Championship Tees. From the Black Tees, we have USGA Course Rating of 68.4 and a Slope Rating of 135 currently.
