The Course

The Club at Blackthorne in Penn Township is a continually growing Residential Golf Course Community. Situated in the rolling hills of Westmoreland County, this 9 Hole golf course designed by the Arnold Palmer Course Design Co. is incorporated into a beautiful setting just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. The course opened for play in June of 2005, and is slated to become an 18 Hole, Par 71 golf course measuring 6,750 yards from the Championship Tees. From the Black Tees, the curent USGA Course Rating is 68.4 with a Slope Rating of 135.

The Residential community features upscale living with a combination of manor, carriage, and single family homes nestled among 315 acres, each possessing a spectacular view of the distant Chestnut Ridge. When completed, the land will consist of nearly 500 elegant homes situated among a beautifully manicured 18 Hole Golf Course and state-of-the-art clubhouse with Banquet Facilities.

A Pure Golf Experience

As the centerpiece of Blackthorne Estates, the course is situated amidst a beautiful natural setting in the rolling hills of Westmoreland County; The Club at Blackthorne will test all your playing skills as you maneuver through a variety of terrains; fescue-outlined holes with bentgrass fairways, picturesque elevation changes, and several natural obstacles.

Don’t forget to steer clear of our 30 massive bunkers, and experience "putting perfection" on our immaculate sand-based bentgrass USGA greens, which feature: multi-tiered landing areas, sloping ridges, and plenty of speed and movement.
